Superfictions 1924-2024: The Existence lies Somewhere Else

At the end of October 1924 Breton published the first Manifesto of Surrealism and inaugurated the  Bureau Central de Recherches Surréalistes . The term had been used by Apollinaire in 1917 in the preface to the libretto of Erik Satie's ballet  Parade , which featured set design and costumes by Picasso, script by Jean Cocteau and choreography by Léonide Massine. Between these two dates, the neologism had entered the vernacular language of Parisian bohemia, transferred from Montmartre to Montparnasse since the beginning of the twentieth century, largely thanks to the success of the publication of  The magnetic fields , the first exercise in automatic writing deployed  à deux  between André Breton and Philippe Soupault.
