T-10 PROJECT

In our second series of exhibitions, we present 10 small-format artworks by Spanish photographer Xènia Fuentes (1981) from her series ‘The Woman Next Door.’ These images bear witness to the existence of the woman next door, a character who, in appearance, coincides with the artist herself. Undoubtedly, the body is the same, and many gestures are mirrored. However, the woman next door possesses unique gestures that are distinctly hers—like the swift way she stretches her hair or the singular ability to expand her arms and shake colors. There’s an insistent way in which she hides her face from us.

The woman next door enjoys wandering through uninhabited spaces, as if she needs to shed everything accessory and become lighter. She possesses her own entity and personality, and my attempt has been solely to capture her through photography.
