Persian VOGUE

Rabee Baghshani is a digital artist from Mashhad, Iran, who has never left the country. She explores the intersection of cultural heritage, gender, and identity through digital collages that combine the rich history of Persian art with Western pop culture. Often juxtaposing Qajar figures in modern settings, she reflects on the fluidity of tradition and the evolving nature of cultural identity. As one of the few female digital artists in Iran, Baghshani's work also addresses themes of freedom and female empowerment, challenging social norms and gender restrictions. Her recent series, Women, focuses on amplifying women's voices, particularly within the Iranian context, highlighting their resilience and strength in the face of oppression. Through her art, Baghshani initiates a dialogue on the complexities of identity, the power of self-expression, and the ongoing struggle for gender equality.
